dude...

i have the original Eddie Kendricks My People Hold on...as well as the original Escorts 3 down 4 to go...

I found the Eddie right here in NYC, at this spot called A-1...and I found the Escorts joint at some secluded record spot near W.4th street...i was very lucky to find those records...ORIGINALS!!! But to be honest w/ ya....the Escorts joint isn't that hot, just the Dilla "Don't Cry" sample is pretty hot...

Now the Eddie...that record is straight HEAT, no if's and's or but's about it!!! You MUST pray to find that joint right there haha...good luck w/ your wishlist, those records will turn up one way or the other...

btw, i check the blog regularly...i like the content and the records that yuo highlight...

man. congrats on scooping those. I have a couple good leads on the Kendricks record. I'm really only interested in the Escorts joint for the Dilla sample although, ideally, I'd find a 7" of it (I don't even know if they PRESSED that cut on 7" yet)!

Thanks for checking the blog. You're the first!

BTW, I've hit A-1 a grip of times. Either they or Sound Library just closed right? I don't bother looking for goods in NYC anymore except for the BEST digging spot EVER which is in Brooklyn. Anything in Manhattan is pricey as all hell. no good for me.

HAHAHAHA!!! I hear ya!!! That's why when I go to A-1 I hit the bargain crates like crazy...because the bargain records at A-1 are still in good condition, they just come w/o plastic sleeves (big deal LMAO).

I NEVER GO TO SOUND LIBRARY...major rip-off, and a sh!tty selection of records at that. Now they didn't close, but they did move locations, they're now on Orchard Street on the Lower East Side...

You're right, my favorite spots are in BK as well, which is where I live...I have a spot at the end of block, and another a couple train stops up...not well-known spots either, which is why I LOVE to go to them...

But yea, I'll be checking the blog for updates, and I'll let you know if I get lucky w/ anything that's on my wishlist as well.

(As of now I'm looking for an original copy of DEMON FUZZ - AFREAKA!)

Anyway...take it easy dude, keep doin' what ya do!

i'm guessing that the Afreaka! needs to be an o.g. pressing? I can point you towards a reissue if that'll do. If not, when i find 2, you get one. I gotta find one for myself first.

What up...

I actually saw the Afreaka! re-issue in a record shop last weekend, I may go back and buy it, but then again...I love the thrill of the chase...so I may just chase the record until I find an original pressing...then listening to it will be THAT much sweeter.

Good lookin' out! Vice versa if I run into doubles...one will def. be shipped to the bay area.

Keep me posted on what you pick up this weekend (if you get a chance)...

By the way, the set of records you got from Rooky...if you've had a chance to go through them, how are they? Any good?...

Peace.
